A reading guide to online care

Reasons to pause

# An offer can wait for a clear answer.

A clear answer names the person treating you, the product, the pharmacy and the next contact. Keep a blank on that list visible until it is answered.

## Pause over these gaps

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) publishes checks for online pharmacies.

- **No prescription.** Handing over a prescription medicine requires a valid prescription under the federal rule, as of 26 September 2026.

- **An approval claim that does not fit.** Compounded means a pharmacy or doctor has prepared a medicine to order. Such medicines have no FDA approval; an advert saying otherwise would be false as of 26 September 2026.

- **No route to a pharmacist.** FDA’s online pharmacy checks include access to a licensed pharmacist for questions.

- **No named pharmacy.** Ask which place fills the order and where its state licence record can be found.

- **No return conversation.** Ask who answers a concern after the medicine arrives.

## Let the price prompt more questions

Very large discounts appear among FDA’s warning signs for pharmacy sites; the price needs to be read alongside the other checks.

Check the person offering care and the pharmacy as well as the price. Ask which parts of care have been left out of the figure.

There is room to leave a decision open.

## Get help for a possible severe reaction

A fast, severe allergic reaction may threaten life.

Breathing difficulties or a swollen face or tongue are among the possible signs.

Go to an emergency room nearby if there are severe signs of an allergic reaction.
