A reading guide to online care

The pharmacy check

# Find the pharmacy behind the order.

Get the filling pharmacy’s name while the plan is still being discussed. Keep it separate from the care site’s name.

## Follow the name to its record

- **Name the place.** Which pharmacy fills and sends the prescription? If a pharmacy makes the medicine to order, which place makes it?

- **Find the record.** Use the state board of pharmacy’s licence lookup, rather than a badge shown on a care page.

- **Ask about your state.** Ask which licence or permission covers sending the medicine to where you live.

- **Find the pharmacist.** Ask for a route to the pharmacist, including how to send a question about a label.

## Use the state record as the source

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) provides BeSafeRx links to state board pharmacy records.

In most states, a pharmacy located elsewhere needs a licence or permit from your state before it can send medicine to you. This was checked on 26 September 2026.

Finding the licence proves the pharmacy holds one. It does not prove the pharmacy fills every prescription as it should.

## A polished page is not the check

FDA notes that fake online pharmacy storefronts can look convincing.

The agency looks for pharmacy licensing and pharmacist access, along with a requirement for a valid prescription.

## Before anything is sent

Ask how delivery is arranged, what storage instructions come with the exact product and whom to contact if the order does not match the plan.

Storage is specific to the product; not every peptide medicine belongs in a refrigerator.

Keep the written instructions from the pharmacy with the treatment plan. If something does not match, ask both the pharmacist and whoever wrote your prescription to explain.
